The federal tax credit can save you up to $1500 if your windows and doors meet the qualifying efficiency requirements. The tax credit is part of the Economic Stimulus Plan (American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009), which extends federal tax credits to "qualified energy improvements" for 2009 and 2010. The tax credit allows you to receive up to 30% of the amount paid for the qualifying product, or up to $1500 total maximum credit for any and all improvements.
Here's how to qualify for the tax credit:
- Windows and doors must meet a 0.30 U-factor and 0.30 SHGC or better. Check with your Milgard dealer for more information about our wide range of products that meet this standard.
- The credit applies to the cost of the product only and does not include installation costs.
- Qualifying windows or doors must be installed between February 18, 2009 and December 31, 2010.

Milgard's mail-in rebate is just one more way you can save up to an additional $750, regardless of your qualifications for the federal tax credit. Here's how to qualify for the Milgard energy rebate:
- Mail in the Energy Rebate card obtained from the Milgard dealer within 60 days of your purchase — Milgard will validate the claim and issue buyers a rebate check for all qualifying purchases within 8 weeks upon receipt of the rebate card.
- A minimum purchase of five Milgard replacement windows and/or doors is required.
- Offer applies to a single purchase agreement between a Milgard Dealer and the homeowner.
- One rebate per household.
- The Milgard Energy Rebate cannot be combined with any other Milgard offers.
